Here we are, it's Presidents' Day. Whatever that means. Lucky for you, I did the leg work to help you understand why you got today off. Journey with me through a look back at how you got a bonus 3 day weekend in February...

President's Day! |
Presidents’ Day is celebrated on the third Monday in February and here's a shocker: it doesn't actually line up with any Presidential birthday. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. It got changed in an effort to give more 3 day weekends to you as part of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Like Independence Day, Presidents’ Day is supposed to be a time of patriotism. SO enjoy your 3 day weekend but fly your flag and remember, America hasn't always been this bad and no other president ever has been this bad. Maybe we should change the name to "Presidents Except Trump Day". Someone start a petition.
