In case you haven't figured it out, I am a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother. It's a show that fits my life and thus, I like watching it. The cast is multi-talented. Many of them can sing, dance, and act. This lead to some fantastic moments on the show. Today, I want to point you towards what I think are the best musical moments of the series.
Season 2, Episode 9: Slap Bet - This is the first episode that we learn about Robin Sparkles and the music video is 100% 80's approved.
Season 3, Episode 9: Slapsgiving - Many people don't realize that Jason and Neil are huge musical talents and this song proves it.
Season 3:, Episode 16: Sandcastles in the Sand - The second Robin Sparkles video is late 80's/Early 90's perfection.
Season 4, Episode 11: Little Minnesota - As a writer of alternate lyrics, I appreciate this short segment more than most.
Season 4, Episode 13: Three Days of Snow - You really need to watch this episode to get the emotional impact behind this musical bit.
Season 4, Episode 14: The Possimpible - Stick with the video. The song is obviously the reason this is included.
Season 5, Episode 4: The Sexless Innkeeper - Technically not a song or musical moment, but the poem is hilarious.
Season 5, Episode 12: Girls Vs. Suits - The 100th episode celebrated the musical talents of NPH and showcases the talents of the rest of the cast. Even Alyson Hannigan, who does not sing, sings a bit here. Add choreography from a Glee alum and this is one of the greatest musical numbers ever aired.
Season 5, Episode 17: Of Course - A short one that makes me giggle in "bang bang", but "Super Date" is also fantastic.
Season 6, Episode 9: Glitter - The funniest of the Robin Sparkles series includes great talent in the late Alan Thicke.
Season 8, Episode 15: P.S. I Love You - The 90's Robin Sparkles, AKA Robin Daggers is every bit Alanis Morissette as you can get.
Season 8, Episode 20: The Time Travelers - This is one of my favorite moments in the series. The harmonies are real!
Season 9, Episode 16: How Your Mother Met Me - In one of the best season 9 episodes, you get the most hauntingly beautiful rendition of La Vie En Rose.
Ah, no Murder Train? That one's hilarious. Also, I can't hear her version of La Vie En Rose without getting a little choked up.
ReplyDeleteNo. I avoided soundtrack stuff and listed specifically musical moments that showcase the cast.
