...a stage technician.
So what does that mean?
Well, for me, it means a lot of things.
On occasion, it means I am pushing a piano on stage.
Other times, it means I am figuring out how much a flying scenic piece weighs.
Still, sometimes I am on a ladder focusing lights.
I am a rigger.
I am an electrician.
I am a deck hand.
I am an audio assistant.
I am a flyman.
I am a stage technician and it means I do a little bit of everything depending on the needs of the production. Some days, it can be really boring and other days it can be sweat inducing chaos.
It has enabled me to work with great bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. It has given me the opportunity to be involved with television shows and films. It has granted me the delight of creating great musicals like Rent and Les Miserables.
It is often hard work and my wardrobe is a lot of black, but we do have some fun...
