...an event planner.
This sort of goes with my other post about being a wedding planner. (NEW WINDOW)
The two go hand in hand but they are very different. With weddings, the goal is that there is only one. You go big or go home.
With events, I am always trying to top what I did before. There is a lot of repeat business in events. Typically, annually...
A birthday.
An anniversary.
A corporate holiday party.
You get the point?
What goes into event planning?
I am often put in charge of the theme. That's where I start. You can't start the drive unless you know the destination. Once we have a theme, we can hammer out a timeline, menu, decorations, vendors, etc.
I take care of all of the pre-planning, booking, purchasing, setup, hosting, tear down, and cleanup. It comes to me naturally as I love hosting and entertaining guests myself. The difference is that it's someone else's money and home or venue.
I highly recommend letting someone else do the work. You'll find you can enjoy your event more if you can relax and be one of the guests. If you need me to do your event planning for you, visit my website!
I think wedding planner or event planner work is really important for success of an event. The event planner I had hired last month did amazing work and planned conference at corporate events NYC successfully. Everyone got great information from event.
